I can't believe that our summer is over and Carter has returned to school. Second grade at that! My sweet baby Carter is in SECOND GRADE!!! Where in the world has the time gone?
Carter has been begging me since kindergarten to be able to ride the bus, and I just couldn't bring myself to let him do it. (mama protection/control freak thing goin' on here.......) So, this year I compromised with him.....he could ride the bus HOME! Can I tell you that I really didn't cry on his first day of kindergarten, but I cried when I went to the bus stop to wait for his return yesterday?? (Obviously I struggle with issues here.........but that's another day, another blog post all in itself at another time!! ha!ha!.........)
So, off he got with his "bus buds" after his first day of second grade, and we return to school mode. (and let me tell you.....it is a HUGE slap in the face after this wild crazy summer that we've had!)
Carter's first day of SECOND GRADE!

Carter looks so grown up and ready for school!
I can't believe your kiddos are in school already. We still have two more weeks of summer left. He's a cutie!
that first bus ride for me w/both of my kiddos was so hard too! i am proud of you for being so brave and letting him have that little bit of freedom (and BTW - good compromise).
he is so handsome.
Awww!! So sweet! Look how grown up he looks! Yikes!
Yeah, riding the bus is a BIG adventure for a while. Easier on you though so I say go for it!
OK! THIS IS IT! i am going to get some of that magic serum for Carter which will disallow any further growth!.........i am not done with him as a LITTLe boy yet!!! 2nd grade! the bus!!! this is too much for me!
Dylan starts 2nd grade in about two weeks and I can't believe it. Where does time go?? Carter looks like he is ready to take on the world. So cute!!
Oh I am part of the mama protection, control freak, club too!! I can not bring myself to let them ride the bus.
Oh my baby is in her last year of elementary school. sniff sniff. I ask her who said she could grow up. She smiles and replies it's Gods' plan mama.
Canela
What a handsome little boy! My youngest will be starting second grade, too. It's hard to believe how fast they grow up, isn't it. Hope he has a great school year!
Aw - what a handsome boy! Our eldest (4) is starting Kindergarten this coming Monday and I thought I was going to be okay but last night at her open house to meet her teacher I was on the verge of tears as one of her classmates came over and with her mom's help introduced herself to my daughter. my BABY!!!
Awww..he's my age group now!! My favorite grade :)
Oh my goodness--I CRIED WHEN I SAW THE SCHOOL BUS...that must have been so hard! I'm going to be a crazy lady this time next year when R starts kindergarten!!!
Cute cute pictures of your cute boy!! Love the one of him and the dog that's as tall as him!
