So, I am mopping the floor listening to the radio just thinking about things and thinking about certain issues that Craig and I have been talking a lot about lately, and I hear one line of a song that immediately catches my attention......."In a blink of an eye, I'll be closer to you than I've ever been"........... I stopped and listened to the whole song and thought about my life in the context of how short it is, and what am I doing with it?
In a blink of an eye it will be gone, so where are my prioritys? Am I chasing after the next big thing? Do I see the true hurt in the world today? and if so do I care? Really? Does my status and popularity trump the fact that I could be viewed as shallow?
If I'm being completely honest the answers to some of these are not ones that I would want to meet Jesus with.
My prayer today is.....Lord, help me to fix my eyes on the only thing that really matters, and that is living a life that truly honors you, and winning others to your kingdom....at any cost.
Help me to take my eyes off the things of this temporary world, and place them directly on you. Give me wisdom and strength in my decissions, and may they be what you would have me to do no matter the cost.
